Course Description
The fundamentals of dry needling using “The Original Dry Needling Method”
Physiological principles of dry needling, dry needling methods, and models are being discussed and demonstrated. Clean Needle Method and creation of a Clean Field, Precautions, Indications, Contra-Indications, Infection Control, Handling of Emergencies will be covered.
Selected muscles of the shoulder, elbow, and hand along with muscles of the neck area will be needled safely and effectively.
NOTE

Details
A major cause of somatic, somatovisceral and somatoemotional dysfunction can be the presence of Myofascial Trigger Points (MTrPs). MTrPs are also a leading cause of misdiagnosis amongst Physical Therapists who treat musculoskeletal problems.
Effective Manual Physical Therapists must be experts in the evaluation and treatment of soft tissue dysfunction, which includes the utilization of Dry Needling Technique. We teach “The Original Dry Needling Method”.
This course reviews the evidence of the pathophysiology of myofascial pain; teaches effective treatments of muscles of the upper body with the use of Dry Needling and explores assessment methods with emphasis on diagnosis and differential diagnosis, which leads to appropriate muscle selection.
The history, theory, and research of Dry Needling will be reviewed. Emphasis is given on safety precautions along with an extensive anatomy review of the selected structures to be needled.
Participants have the opportunity to practice effective and efficient MTrP Dry Needling treatment methods for the Cervical Spine and the upper extremities.
