Dr. Dimitrios Kostopoulos
Imagine this: an athlete is diagnosed with shoulder impingement—but it isn’t. A patient is told they have radiculopathy—but it’s actually a peripheral nerve issue. Or someone presents a “normal” X-ray—yet a torn tendon is sitting there in plain sight, detectable in seconds with musculoskeletal ultrasound.

Today, we’re talking about Sonoscript—the tool that transforms ultrasound signals into clinical certainty, in real time, right in the room. Welcome to the show where images become decisions. See you in a moment.

00:01:30:37 – 00:02:09:25
Welcome to Your Practice, Your Money, where clinical success meets financial freedom. I’m your host, Dr. Dimitrios Kostopoulos.
Before we begin, please subscribe on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or anywhere you listen—and visit yourpracticeyourmoney.com for more resources.

But today, we’re temporarily renaming the show: The SonoScript Podcast.

If you work at the intersection of musculoskeletal ultrasound, electrodiagnostics, and clinical decision-making, you’re in the right place. SonoScript helps clinicians break down real cases, refine image acquisition strategies, and translate scan findings into accurate, billable documentation.

And today I’m joined by my colleagues and business partners:

Thank you both for being here to discuss this breakthrough in MSK sonography—SonoScript.

What is SonoScript?

Dr. Mohini Rawat
SonoScript is a musculoskeletal ultrasound report-writing application—and it is the only tool of its kind. It makes documentation simple. MSK ultrasound is both an art and a science. Even after you master scanning technique, you must describe what you see using accurate terminology, structure, and format. For most clinicians, this is the most time-consuming and stressful part. SonoScript removes that barrier.

Why was SonoScript created?

Dr. Konstantine Rizopoulos
Time. Documentation used to consume hours. I would scan 4–6 patients during the day, then spend two hours at home creating reports—trying to make them perfect because physicians would review them. Eventually, I wondered whether I should stop scanning altogether.

That’s what pushed us to build a tool that saves time and guides clinicians through proper protocol, terminology, and pathology identification—especially when they’re still learning. SonoScript prompts, teaches, and standardizes.

How long does report writing take—before and after SonoScript?

Dr. Konstantine Rizopoulos
Before SonoScript, a complex case—like a full geriatric shoulder scan—could take 30 minutes or more. Even experienced sonographers spent a lot of time documenting. With SonoScript, reports take a few minutes. It’s truly day and night.

Consistency and Accuracy

Dr. Mohini Rawat
We designed SonoScript using standardized protocols and terminology aligned with AIUM and SSR documentation guidelines. The app prompts you through each structure. As you scan, you simply click what you see—so the report is evidence-based, accurate, and consistent every time.

Demo Summary

The SonoScript interface works on any tablet or smartphone (iPhone or Android). Inside the GoCanvas app, clinicians access six MSK templates: ankle, elbow, hip, knee, wrist, and shoulder.

Each template opens with:

  • patient info

  • referring provider

  • region and laterality

  • comparison options

  • prior studies

Then it guides you through each anatomical region and possible pathology.
Click “normal,” and a complete normal description appears in the final report.
Click a pathology, and SonoScript automatically inserts the correct diagnostic language.
You can also type free-text additions.

After submitting the form, you finalize the report on the GoCanvas portal, insert your logo and signature, and download a clean professional PDF.

How to Sign Up

Dr. Mohini Rawat
Visit AAMSKUS.com and click the orange button labeled “MSK Ultrasound Documentation App.” You can sign up there.

Cost: $99/month
Students: 20% discount
Accessible on smartphone or tablet; all submitted reports are stored in the secure portal.

Yes—any clinician trained in MSK ultrasound can use SonoScript, regardless of where they trained. And yes—it is fully HIPAA compliant.

Practical Use Tips

Dr. Konstantine Rizopoulos
Most clinicians prefer using their phone because it’s small and easy to manage while scanning. I use a stylus so I can tap through options without getting gel on the screen. The whole point is to complete documentation during the scan—so you finish the report before the patient leaves the room.

Closing Thoughts

Dr. Mohini Rawat
Your scan is only as good as your documentation. SonoScript helps clinicians document accurately, efficiently, and professionally—every time.

Dr. Konstantine Rizopoulos
This app invites trained sonographers to use their skills more. Many stop scanning because documentation takes too long. SonoScript solves that.

Dr. Dimitrios Kostopoulos
It’s also incredibly valuable in busy physician offices where providers need fast, accurate reports with no backlog.

Mohini, Konstantine—thank you both for presenting this innovative tool.
