Dr. Dimitrios Kostopoulos DPT, M.D., Ph.D., D.Sc., ECS
Dr. Dimitrios Kostopoulos is board certified in clinical electrophysiology. He is a leading, world-renowned expert in myofascial pain. Dr. Kostopoulos is the co-founder of the family of Hands-On Companies, including Hands-On EMG Testing, Hands-On Physical Therapy, Hands-On Diagnostics, and Hands-On Seminars.
Extensive Experience and Qualifications
Dr. Kostopoulos has more than 35 years of clinical experience and over 28 years of experience in electrophysiology testing. He received his doctoral degree (Ph.D.) and master’s degrees from New York University. He earned his second Doctorate of Science degree from Rocky Mountain University in Clinical Electrophysiology. He received his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from University of Health Sciences Antigua (UHSA).
He also serves as a Clinical Affiliate Professor at Florida Atlantic University. Dr. Kostopoulos is also an adjunct faculty member of Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts, where he teaches the clinical electrophysiology module.
Trusted Doctor, Teacher, and Expert
Previously, Dr. Kostopoulos was a member of the Specialization Academy of Content Experts (SACE) for the electrophysiology board exam of the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). He currently serves as the elected secretary of the Academy of Clinical Electrophysiology for the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
Dr. Kostopoulos has extensive training and teaching experience in many different areas of manual therapy. His training has an emphasis in manual therapy on trigger point, myofascial, neurofascial therapy, and manipulation.
He is the editor of the diagnostic section of the Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies (published by Elsevier). Through Hands-On Seminars, he has taught thousands of students throughout the world. He is the recipient of numerous business and humanitarian awards.
With Dr. Rizopoulos, he is the co-owner of Hands-On Companies. Hands-On Companies was established in 1992. It is a consortium of companies spanning the fields of physical therapy, diagnostic testing, and education. Dr. Kostopoulos continues to work closely with businesses and patients to improve knowledge and quality of care across the PT industry.
Dr. Konstantine ‘Kostas’ Rizopoulos DPT, MCMT, RMSK
Dr. Konstantine Rizopoulos (Dr. Kostas to his friends) is one of the world’s leading experts in myofascial pain. He is the co-founder of the family of Hands-On Companies, including Hands-On EMG Testing, Hands-On Physical Therapy, Hands-On Diagnostics, and Hands-On Seminars.
An Active and Respected Member of the PT Community
Dr. Rizopoulos is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). He is also a fellow member of the American Back Society and a member of the Hellenic Medical Society. Dr. Kostas regularly lectures worldwide through both conferences and continuing education courses. He is also a contributing editor for the Indian Journal of Physical Therapy.
Together with Dr. Kostopoulos, Dr. Rizopoulos is the author of the books and video, “Trigger Point & Myofascial Therapy.”
A Trusted Expert in Myofascial Pain
Dr. Rizopoulos has over 35 years’ experience in the field of myofascial pain and is a best-selling author on the subject. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Athens, Greece. Dr. Rizopoulos has completed extensive study and post-graduate courses in manual therapy.
Dr. Kostas also holds a doctorate in physical therapy through Evidence In Motion and has comprehensive training and teaching experience in the field of musculoskeletal ultrasound. He also boasts considerable expertise in the fields of myofascial and trigger point therapies, neuromobilization, strain and counter strain, and muscle energy technique approaches.
He is also a master practitioner of neurolinguistic programming. The doctor also specializes in business coaching, where he consults individuals and businesses to identify and unlock their potential.
